Health & Safety

Health and Safety is a part of everyday life for Guardian FM and it is our role to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of; our direct staff, our contractors, our clients people and the members of the community who come into contact with our sites and activities.

We have a positive safety culture that we have developed and reinforced through comprehensive and ongoing safety training programs.  From safety protocols, SOP, toolbox talks through to formal safety training sessions we emphasise safety and monitor both lead and lag indicators to promote and reinforce the correct safety behaviours. 

We encourage our whole team and our clients – wether they are management, trades and contractors – to look out for the safety of their colleagues and workmates, to plan their work activities with safety in mind and to speak up if they see a breach, a potential breach or a near miss.

Environment

We are serious about protecting the environment and are conscious of the steps we need to take to mitigate environmental damage and to protect the reputation and community standing of both ourselves and of our clients.

Our role in protecting the environment includes the direct activities such as reducing waste and ensuring compliant waste management as well as; proactive steps such as improving the thermal efficiency of buildings; reducing electricity usage and emissions through effective management and maintenance of HVAC systems, and controlling the environmental impact of building and maintenance works.

We have a positive environmental management track record with no breaches and are committed to continuing to meet the evolving expectations of our client, statutory authorities and the broader community.
